Welcome

Greetings Everyone!!!
I am starting this blog as a place for Gay men and women to come and read information about a variety of topics and issues. If you would like to be a guest author on my blog, please email me at CarlDinsmore@yahoo.com and tell me why you would like to post something on my blog. This is also a way for people in Cincinnati to get linked to social organizations that maybe they did not know existed. I will work hard on placing all sorts of information on the site, regarding Books, Medical updates, Causes that I deelpy care about, Gay vacation destinations, Gay Sports, and much, much more. Its also just a venue for you to share comments on postings, or share with me a cause or topic I could add to my site.
Last year was a very tough year for me, as I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, which is a form of depression mainly diagnosed in women, but more and more men are being diagnosed with this illness. So, look for information regarding borderline on the blog. Finally having a diagnosis regarding my depression was life saving. Coming through that crisis is what gave me the idea to create this blog.
But my number one goal for this site is the fact that it is time for unity in the gay community. Its time to STOP tearing each other down, but rather to build each other up. We are not all alike. We are different and these differences are what makes our world such a wonderful place to live. Please enjoy the site, and lets unite to make our world the best place it can be.

My favortie gay related qoute EVER!!!!

If God had wanted me otherwise, He would have created me otherwise.

Aren't Christians Suppose to Forgive???

I am asking myself this question because of something that is on going in my family. I am the youngest of four, at age 44, and the my second oldest sister is angry at me and will not bunch an inch from here anger. Oh, and did I mention she is a " Christian?"

Back in the first part of the spring, I was planning on hiking the Appalachian trail to raise awareness on mental illness and HIV awareness. I called my sister and asked her if I could come give a little speech on my goals, talk abit about mental illnesses such as depression, and HIV. She flat out said no, that she did not want me to talk about this at her church.

After hanging up the phone, and a bit of the shock wore off, I called her back and left a message on her answer machine. Well, a not so nice message. However, it was all true. I was angry that she was ashamed and embarrassed to have her little brother come to her church and speak of his experiences with fighting depression, surviving a suicide attempt that almost killed me, beging gay, etc. It really hurt me to come to know that she resented me and was ashamed of me.

She came to many family sessions while I was in the hospital for my last suicide attempt and appeared to be involved and to really care about me getting better. What we did not know was that it was all fine and good to talk about it behind the closed doors of a family, group session, but not OK for her to have to acknowledge me in public or around her friends.

Nobody is perfect by any means. However, how much of a hypocrite can you be to walk through the doors of your church, read the scripture, pray and still harbor hate in your heart for a brother?? All I did was express myself, which is what every therapy I attended said to do, and then she turns around and shuts me out. How Judas can you get. I hate hypocrites and especially when it comes to those who hide behind the word Christian.
